IT competition dubbed “Growing IT Entreprenuers,” sponsored by Enablis Entreprenueral Network in association with NetHope Academy, will be held in three African countries: Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana, a welcome news to IT entrepreneurs.
The competition calls for entrepreneurs in the fields of technology to apply. Aspiring entrants will be required to submit their ideas to the organization, which will grade the ideas with their sustainability and business viability.
Enablis confirmed its intentions for the competition saying: “The project is responding to IT skills being in high demand, generating opportunities for youth to participate in core aspects of the economy.”
“Enablis and Nethope believe if IT enthusiasts and professionals can get the necessary real-world entrepreneurial training and support, then they can create jobs and come up with innovative solutions,” the firm said.
The entrants are to be citizens of the three countries, must be between 18 and 35 years old, must be propose a technological idea that will solve either societal or business problems with an aim of enhancing efficiency. The businesses must also be set in any of the three states.
Enablis also outlined how the competition will be saying a panel of judges will review the idea summaries of the entrants. The judges will then identify the top 150 finalist.
“Top finalists will be announced at the official launch event and the results published on the competition website,” Enablis said.
The competition will take place in the next one year. Enablis and NetHope will “soon” be accepting entries to the competition.
