Facebook announced in a recent press conference the integration of 60 apps to the timeline. They also hinted at allowing developers to build applications that enable users to add just about anything to their timelines.
Facebook in September last year unveiled the Timeline as the new Facebook profile with major improvements on its layout.
Now also adding apps to Facebook timeline is enabled. The apps could describe music, news, food and travel activities that the users are involved in.
Some of the new apps announced include Foodspotting, Foodily, Ticketmaster, Pinterest, Rotten Tomatoes, Pose, Kobo,Gogobot, TripAdvisor, and others. See the full list here.

With improvements on the Facebook platform, African developers are challenged to build upon Facebook applications so as to serve with local content. Though offering general solutions, most applications have not been tailored for the African market which mostly renders them unusable among the continent’s Internet population.
