Telecoms operator Bharti Airtel has scooped this year’s EuroFinance Treasury Award.
Airtel was recognised for its efforts in implementing a centralized treasury in the countries it has establised presence and its fast tracked efforts focused on managing debt of an estimated US$13 billion. According to the award organisers, the mobile service provider displayed the ability of using available resources in “Survival of the fitness or adaptation of the most agile.”
It was also praised for being innovative in handling new currency pairs and liquidity solutions.
Bharti Airtel has an estimated 243 million customers across 20 countries including India.
Its products telecommunication services include 2G, 3G and 4G as well as fixed line and broadband through DSL, IPTV, DTH. It also offers a range of enterprise services.
The annually awards offers companies and state agencies with an opportunity to come up with dynamic technology devices.
EuroFinance Treasury Awards is one the world’s most prestigious technology awards since it was first held in 1991. Past winners include Microsoft, Tesco, Vodafone, MerckKgA, Siemens and AkzoNobel.
This year’s theme was “Volatility, Stability and Agility.”
