In an interesting update to Facebook Groups, users will now be able to see who viewed each post as well as comment on the Group. This new feature will bring to Facebook Groups the “read receipt” attribute that has been available on e-mail for some time.
The feature, which for a while has existed in Facebook messages and chat, will enable the networking site’s users to see who viewed each update posted to a Group, Facebook announced.
Below each Facebook Group post, will appear “Seen by” text, which will be followed by a number. Users can hover over the text to see who read each message and when they read it.
The feature, which Facebooks calls “read receipts,” will also work on mobile phones.
Also, “Seen by everyone” will be displayed in the case that the whole group has read the post.
This could prove to be a useful addition as it will assist Group members updating a message to know whether the message has reached the necessary recipients.
