YouTube has launched another version of its service in another African country. This time around, it’s Senegal.
Late last month, the online video company announced that it has launched its YouTube version for the country of Ghana.
The aggressive launch of YouTube launch in African countries can only reiterate YouTube’s knowledge of video content consumption in the continent.
“At Google, we are always looking for ways to make the Internet more relevant because we know access to local content is key to our users,” Google reported.
What will this mean to the users in Senegal? “A localized version of YouTube means that it will now be easier for users to find and view locally relevant videos on youtube.sn,” Google said.
“In addition to a local youtube.sn homepage, launch features include a Localized User Interface in French, a Localized Home Page (including promoted videos and featured videos), and a Localized Browse Page where you can find the top videos in Senegal,” the company said.
