According to the firm, the new version is more developer-friendly.
The Optimizer platform is ForgetMeNot’s avenue to give developers a chance to come up with market-friendly applications.
In recent months, the company held competitions for mobile developers to come up with solutions based on the Optimizer platform.
The company announced the feature of this new version that include:

- More secure. All V2 API calls will be via HTTPS.
- Push-Message support. The ability to send unsolicited messages to and create interactive SMS sessions with existing registered users of your application.
- Dedicated number support. Your app can have a dedicated number for each user, meaning they can save it in the contacts list and always have it available for use without having to go via a keyword and the shortcode.
- Users are protected by agreeing to a “Terms of Service” for each app and having the ability to stop any app sending messages to them by sending a single SMS.
- Facebook integration. Apps will have the ability to post to the user’s Facebook wall.
- Email integration. Apps will have the ability to send an email from the customer’s email account, meaning a more joined-up and professional service is provided to the users.
- The ability for an app to send multiple messages with a single call. For instance an app could, in a single request, post to facebook, email your friend and send you an SMS.
The company uses technology that helps users with data-less phones to access Internet-related services such as email and social networks.
It has patnered with mobile telecommunication companies across Africa to bring the text-Internet functionality for subscribers. Companies such as Essar’s Yu Mobile and Safaricom in Kenya and Econet Wireless in Burundi, have used the technology.
