Twitter and Blackberry on Monday announced the release of a new Twitter for Blackberry version, now available in Blackberry’s App World. The version support s Arabic, Finnish and Hebrew.
In an announcement, Twitter’s Brina Frank said: “Now when you expand a tweet to see the details view, you can enjoy images from Pic.twitter.com in full resolution and RIM maps for geolocated tweets. It’s also easier to see how a single tweet fits into a broader conversation from the details view with previous tweets and replies.”
The new Twitter for BlackBerry v3.1 App’s new improvements include new features for tweet details, retweets, and account creation along with the new language support.
The first new feature relates to an improved the tweet details screen. Users can see more info about a tweet including a snapshot of the users who have retweeted a message.
The app also allows for easier means of undoing a retweet — a user can touch the retweet button a second time to undo the action. This feature has been available on Twitter for Android and iOS for some time.
It also makes it easier to sign up for a new account from a Blackberry smartphone.
Improvements to the sign-in screen include providing suggestions for an account name if the one originally wanted is already in use.
