With the release of Firefox 14 and the eminent test of Firefox mobile Operating system, research has revealed that Firefox is still a top browsing option.
The research does not discount the fact that Chrome is now the leading browser worldwide after having overtaken Internet Explorer in the past months.
Firefox is however still the people’s favorite, especially in Africa. The report published on PingDom reveals that countries like Cuba and Cameroon enjoy over 50 percent usage of Firefox.
Here is the list of countries that still have 50 percent usage on Firefox: Cuba, Cameroon, Indonesia, Madagascar, Ghana, Gambia, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Cambodia, Syria and Senegal.
It is worthy to note that eight countries in the list are from Africa. The continent still enjoys an average of 39.5 percent for Firefox making it the favorite choice for now.
Firefox 14 was released this week “with a range of new functionality and fixes, including HTTPS support for Google searches and full screen support for Mac OS X Lion, there’s a lot to like about the latest Firefox version,” Pingdom recounted.
Analyst depict that it is a matter of time before Google Chrome takes over virtually in every continent.
