Edison Basson has been named as Business Connexion Namibia’s new deputy managing director. He will deputise for Ferdi Graupe during the transitional period until a time yet to be determined — where it is rumoured he would take over as the managing director.
“Edison has all the qualities that we need to take Business Connexion Namibia to greater heights. Because he is originally from Namibia and understands the dynamiques of the country, his appointment will not only be beneficial to us, but also to the business environment as well as the Namibian community at large.” said Rodwell Zvayari, Group Executive: International at Business Connexion Group.
Edison is a Namibian citizen and has over 15 years of ICT industry experience.
He has worked at Business Connexion Namibia for more than two years as an Account Executive responsible for Public Sector business development.
His previous employers include Absa Namibia, FNB Namibia, National Housing Enterprise, Old Mutual Namibia as well as the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation.
His ICT work experience includes ICT Service Delivery, Systems Administration as well as ICT Operations Management.
He is currently studying Business Informatics.
On his appointment, Edison said: “Being born and bred in Namibia gives me an added advantage as I do not only understand the business environment of Namibia, but also the challenges faced by our communities. I am continuously seeking to contribute in a meaningful way to this country’s development priorities and this appointment will give me the opportunity to do just that.”
