On August 17 and 18, JoomlaDay will be making a debut in Cape Town, South Africa during the JoomlaDay meet-up.
Joomla is one of the top used CMS (content management system) products worldwide. The software boasts of about 30 million downloads since it launched in September 2005.
Joomla competes with WordPress and Drupal as the top content management systems in the world. The three have been used in top sites around the world.
JoomlaDay are meet-ups arranged to bring developers, site administrators, online content producers and end-users to discuss issues affecting the content management system.
This time round, the 2-day conference will be held at The Pavilion Conference Centre in Cape Town.
“Networking is also a big part of the event, and you are bound to meet people with ideas, issues and solutions which can be discussed and talked about at the event,” JoomlaDay organizers said.
JoomlaDay came to Kenya for the first time in March this year. The forthcoming ones will be broader even with the subject matter, according to the event organizers.
One of the topics expected to be tabled include the new upgrade, Joomla 3.0, which is anticipated will be one of their greatest releases in recent years. The current version of the software is at 2.5.
Registration for the event is ongoing and will cost around R1,299 (US$150). It will cover material and refreshments.
