Video Connect Network officially branched out to Nigeria

Main One Cable and Tata Communication unveiled an international video broadcast centre termed as Video Connect Network (VCN) set to enable movie producers in Nigeria make more and better quality video content.

VCN allows local production companies in the country to broadcast live video content across the globe courtesy of Submarine Broadband Cables.
Main One Cable’s chief executive Funke Opeke said the firm is delighted to be part of the development in bringing in a new dimension to the country and the entire Africa.
The technological innovation will help the country to produce more movie content and of better quality to show to the world, experts say.
In Africa, Nigeria is outstanding in the film industry. In May 2009 report by UNESCO, it was established that the country was the second best in the number of movies produced after India’s Bollywood thus beating heavyweights Hollywood.

Main One Cable is a submarine communications cable that connects West African countries Portugal, Europe, Asia and America to allow global sharing of information.
While Tata Communications Limited is a telecommunications company based in Mumbai. The firm provides IP Network, Data center and Collocation Space.
TCL provides services worldwide, it’s the largest Data Center shareholder in South Africa’s operator Neotel. Currently the Cable network is approximately more than 235,000 kilometers long.
