Vodacom has lost its high court battle to get the ‘Please Call Me’ case against it dropped by former employee Nkosana Makate.
HumanIPO reported last month the case dating back to 2000 was back in court with Makate continuing his assertion it was his inspiration behind the feature.
The South African Press Association (SAPA) reported the high court in Johannesburg rejected Vodacom’s bid to have the case set aside on Monday.
Makate claims his boss at the time, Philip Geissler, made an oral agreement to begin remuneration negotiations with him, after submitting the idea.
The former employee hopes a court case will eventually lead to Vodacom discussing suitable compensation.
