Telecom Egypt has revealed its revenue performance for the second quarter, boasting a 16 per cent increase.
The operator’s profit soared from EGP2.39 billion (US$370 million) to EGP2.77 billion (US$400 million), compared to its performance in the same period last year.
The growth is owed to expanding broadband services offered by the company, together with 27 per cent more of wholesale revenues.
Egypt Telecom’s ADSL subscriber base grew by almost 60,000, hitting the 1.5 million mark by the end of June.
Improvement in capital expenditure was also noted.
Meanwhile, Vodafone Egypt’s revenue has increased by 11.4 per cent, amounting to EGP3.44 billion (US$490 million).
Vodafone gained 2.35 million new customers, reaching 40.6 million by June 30.
