Telecel Zimbabwe has provided a sponsorship package for the Zimbabwe Union of Journalists (ZUJ) to hold workshops on new media and ICT reporting.
Last year Telecel sponsored two similar workshops. The four being held this year are aimed at improving coverage of the ICT sector.
Francis Chimanda, public relations, corporate social responsibility and sponsorship manager at Telecel Zimbabwe, said: “Our sponsorship of ZUJ-organised journalist workshops started last year with two pilot workshops in Harare and Mutare.
“After the success and popularity of these training workshops among the media fraternity we decided to expand the programme’s reach to include other provinces by establishing a $24,000 fund for this.”
HumanIPO reported last week that Telecel had sponsored $100,000 to illuminate the Victoria Falls bridge.
