Samsung to unveil two new Series 7 monitors

Samsung will be unveiling the two latest additions to their series 7 monitors at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA next week.

“We are committed to serving an expanding market of aspiring young professionals with the professional-grade monitors that match their needs,” Jung-Hwan Kim, Senior Vice President of the Visual Display Business for Samsung Electronics, told Gadget.

The Samsung Series 7 SC770 Touch Monitor is the first touch monitor created by the company that is optimised for Windows 8. It is able to support as many as 10 points of multi-touch simultaneously and users can select, rotate and drag items using their fingers on the monitor.

“As the industry leader for seven consecutive years, Samsung is exploring new technology that provides discerning users with affordable, cutting-edge monitors that deliver a differentiated user experience,” said Kim.

The second monitor to be revealed, the SC750, also forms part of Samsung’s Series 7. The SC750 is of a slim and ergonomic design and unlike the 60-degree SC770, it allows for a 90-degree tilt. The SC750 enables the use to view documents in both landscape and portrait modes and is optimised for surfing the web.

The SC750 monitor is equipped with a 5000:1 contrast ratio, five times more powerful than a standard monitor.

The stand for the SC770 monitor is adjustable to user preferences and allows for a 60-degree tilt. The SC750’s stand was designed to compliment the appearance of the slim monitor, which is positioned on the stand at an eye-level comfortable to the user without a support fixture.

The two monitors, which won the CES Innovation award will be displayed at the Las Vegas CES between January 8 and 11 and will be available for purchase globally in the first quarter of this year.
