Airtel Nigeria has been recognised as the most innovative network operator in the West African country, at Nigeria’s Telecoms Award.
The network also emerged as best for customer services at the event held in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Airtel, which launched its Nigerian operation in November 2010, now has the largest 3.75G network in the country and has also introduced its High Definition Voice Service, Google Cache solution implementation.
It was also the first to lead a successful LTE field trial in Nigeria, although no mobile operators have gone live with commercial offerings of the faster data service.
