Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, of Nasarawa state, has commended the work of its Geographic Information System (GIS) project sited at Mararaba, Nigeria after an inspection.
He expressed his joy at the quality and speed with which A&K Construction Limited is carrying out the NAGIS.
Alhaji Ibrahim Jibril Usman, Senior Special Assistant and Project Manager of NAGIS, Roland Klaus, the Director of Aeroprecisa, the firm handling parts of NAGIS and Khaled Chamoun, Project Manager at A&K, showed the governor around the facility.
Chamoun said the structural work aspect on the project has been completed while landscaping of the main building is also near completion.
The transformed structure used to be an abandoned cinema. Currently, the firm handling the project is rounding off the stringing of wires that will link the server room and computer units.
“In four months, we could change all the aspect of the old building, and provide what now stands as an architectural masterpiece”, Chamoun said.
About $10,625,000 has been spent on the NAGIS project which is being executed by a consortium of firms under Siraj Engineering Consultants. There are three components: Digital Area Mapping (DAM); Nasarawa Geographic Information Services; and the planning of cadastral districts.
