Mobile ad agency Celltick has partnered with Abu Dhabi-based operator Warid Telecom to introduce Warid MobiAds on the Warid Telecom network, opening up a new e-marketing scheme in Uganda.
Celltick says it will implement the service through an interactive and engaging mobile medium, allowing subscribers to discover a large variety of services in a user-friendly manner. The service will be location-based and hopes to be non-intrusive to subscribers.
The platform will also provide coupon services to retailers for marketing purposes, content and service delivery as well as advertising deals. According to Celltick the service will major on two content themes, local commerce and high-value infotainment, including m-health and m-education services.
“We are very happy to partner with Warid Telecom,” says Ronen Daniel, CEO of Celltick. “Africa is a strategic geography for us, and we believe this partnership will set the standard for new innovative consumer-oriented services in the market.”
He added that the company is confident it will enable its consumers to easily access much-desired, beneficial information and services.
“We have proven repeatedly that we can make mobile marketing work successfully in growth markets and have established ourselves as a leader not only in being able to reach the consumer but also in monetizing it while providing value to the consumer,” Daniel said.
In a statement, the CCO of Warid Telecom, Shailendra Naidu, said: “We chose to implement Celltick’s LiveScreen service to leverage Celltick’s experience and expertise in creating a service that delivers value to the consumer while ensuring monetization for the operator.
“Its proven media management capabilities and success in managing mobile marketing services in fast growth markets will aid us in differentiating ourselves with the end consumer.”
