The Mobile Virtual Network Operator company owned by popular Cameroon footballer, Samuel Eto’o, has appointed Herve Perrin as its new Chief Executive.
Perrin succeeds Charles Gueret at Set’ Mobile who operate as an MVNO on the Orange Cameroon network.
In a statement, the company said: “Perrin was chosen in December and was in place on January 11.”
Reports suggest Gueret vacated his position as CEO as early as September 2012 with a view of finding ways to improve Set’Mobile’s international presence. In the process it is reported he had since handed over the reigns of the company to Jean-Bosco Massoma, Chief Financial Officer, on an interim basis.
The appointment of Perrin as CEO is seen as a positive one given that Set’Mobile harbours hopes of expanding throughout Cameroon and also looking to gain some market share in West Africa before exploring other regions on the continent.
