Vision247 to offer delivery of premium TV in Africa’s emerging markets

London-based Vision247 is a new player eyeing the growing Africa market and aims to introduces Internet Protocol Television (IPTv) in the continent.

 

The company already works with regional broadcasters including Al Arabia, MBC, GEM TV and Iqraa in the Middle East.

“The company will now expand its activities with support for local telecoms operators, offering combined subscription and pay-per-view services, IPTV and OTT (over the top), with provision of both channels and apps,” the statement from the company indicated.

IPTV is a process where television services can be delivered through the internet protocol rather than the traditional way of terrestrial cables or satellite. Such services grow the opportunity for video on demand (VOD) services from various devices.

With this expansion plans in progress, the company has appointed a new, Tanya Vidmar.

“The Middle East and Africa regions represent some of the most exciting new opportunities for Vision247. As a vendor of IPTV and OTT content delivery and management platforms the company is in a prime position to support the development of free to view and payTV services, delivered over the internet, to the new generation of ‘digital’ homes in the region,” Vidmar said.

The new MEA offices will support fresh partnerships with the region’s telecoms providers as Vision247 develops its award winning XtremeIPTV and Perception platforms, introducing innovative solutions for telco IPTV networks, including: high performance VoD; network PVR & Time Shift systems; HLS streaming; and new set top box and mobile client applications.
