BlackBerry 10.2 OS update due this week

BlackBerry has announced the 10.2 OS update will be released to all BlackBerry 10 smartphones this week.

The update, pre-installed on the recently launched BlackBerry Z 30, comes with a number of features for other BlackBerry mobile phones, including the Z10, Q10 and Q5.

Users will obtain access to the new BlackBerry Priority Hub feature, which learns what conversations are most important to the user and puts those messages at the top of the inbox.

Natural sound has been included in BBM video and voice calls to make them sound more realistic than before.

Instant previews for BBM and SMS will also be available, as well as emails that alert the user of their whereabouts on the phone, including when in apps.

The update will allow the phone to learn who the user shares information with the most across social networks and BBM so it makes it easier to gain access to them specifically.

The on-screen BlackBerry keyboard has also been improved for the Z10 and Z30 devices.

The OS update will be available as an over-the-air download through software updates section in settings to Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe and Middle East this week with other continents having to wait until later in November.
