ICASA staff on “go slow” over bonuses

Staff at the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) are currently on a “go slow” due to a dispute over bonuses with the regulator.

The labour action, prompted by the Communications Workers Union (CWU) began yesterday and is ongoing, according the ICASA spokesperson Paseka Maleka.

Maleka told HumanIPO: “There is a bit of a go slow ongoing. There are some negotiations with the management at ICASA.

“It started yesterday and we don’t know when it is going to end.”

The dispute centres around staff wanting performance related bonuses to be paid by the end of October.
