Digital platform GOtv is now available in the western Kenyan town of Kisii and its surroundings, according to the signal distributor.
In a message to potential customers through a broadcast SMS, the launch in Kisii comes with an offer for buyers.
The expansion to Kisii takes the number of towns that the platform is available in to nine after Nairobi, Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa, Nyeri, Machakos, Malindi and Nakuru.
The expansion comes as the government pushed back the phase one switch-off of the analogue signal from December 2013 to June 2014.
Fred Matiangi, cabinet secretary for ICT, announced the extension and is said to have agreed on the move after meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday.
The Media Owners Association is also said to have petitioned the government against the December 13 switch off in Nairobi saying it was not feasible.
