Prepaid subscribers with South African network operator Cell C will be able to make unlimited calls to other users on the same network with the new TopUp option – SUPACHARGE.
“This prepaid and Contract TopUp offering will be part of Cell C’s standard product offering and is not merely a promotional offer,” said Alan Knott-Craig, Chief Executive Officer at Cell C.
“We know that customers are always delighted when we launch special offers, but we also know sometimes they want some continuity. This one will be around for a while.”
From February 4, Cell C SUPACHARGE users will qualify for free voice calls with every R500 (US$55) recharge, valid for 30 days since topping up.
Added benefits include 1,000 free Cell C to Cell C all time SMSs and 1,000MB of data per month.
The offer comes three weeks after HumanIPO reported rival operator Vodacom re-introduced their Power Hour offer, which gives users one hour call free talk time between 6am and 8pm for R10.
This is also exclusively for Vodacom-to-Vodacom calls, but doubled in price from when it was last launched in July, 2012.
The SUPACHARGE offer is the latest in Cell C’s new releases of TopUp options, including R5 to R500 vouchers, additional data and free SMS and minutes offers, of which the bonus value increases with the recharge value.
“Having voice, SMS and data standard on a single prepaid voucher is a Cell C innovation and has proved to be a popular offering amongst our prepaid base. We are pleased to be able to make the concept more widely available on all our prepaid vouchers,” said Knott-Craig.
Vouchers that have not been fully redeemed at the time of the new package release will also be taken into account.
