Newly rebranded BlackBerry is in talks with Instagram and Netflix over offering their apps on its new platform, with neither available yet.
A BlackBerry spokesman confirmed to AllThingsD that the manufacturer is “in talks” with photo-sharing app Instagram and video streaming app Netflix, though there is no confirmation yet as to when the apps will be available on the platform.
The new BlackBerry 10 operating system was launched on Wednesday (January 30), along withj the BlackBerry Z10 touchscreen phone and Q10 physical keyboard handset.
The phones have access to more than 70,000 apps from the BlackBerry World Store, including Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, Skype, WhatsApp, Angry Birds and Bloomberg.
YouTube is also missing, however, as is Google Maps as BlackBerry has included its own mapping app.
