Egypt has been chosen as the base for the new Huawei Authorized Network Academy (HANA) laboratory in a bid to train engineering students and graduates on the latest networking and communications technologies.
The country’s ICT Minister, Atef Helmy, inaugurated the Academy under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s “human development programs systems” in Cairo’s Smart Village.
It is hoped those trained by the academy will be absorbed by jobs in the country’s ICT industry, specifically in networking and communications technology jobs.
The Chinese company has committed to providing technical support which will include the necessary hardware required for the new laboratory as well as the educational content for the training programs.
