Nigerian jobseekers may get some respite after a deal between Dragnet Solutions, owners of Nigeria’s e-based recruitment product, GradExchange, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), and the National Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) aims to simplify the job hunting process.
At a ceremony held at the Corporate Headquarters of the NDE in the capital city of Abuja, the three partnering organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
According to Robert Ikazoboh, Managing Director of Dragnet Solutions, through the agreement, NDE will open up all of its vocation and skills acquisition centers located across the country. The centres will serve as centralised screening and assessment centres for graduates.
They will host standardized psychometrically reliable employment aptitude tests that will be administered and supervised by GradExchange with the aid of Dragnet Solution’s computer based testing technology.
A central portal will be created for the collation of the results of the tests and screenings which will become easily accessible to organisations and corporate bodies seeking duly qualified and suitable graduates to fill vacant job positions.
The system has also got measures in place to safeguard it from being exploited by mercenaries and ‘ghost’ candidates. Dragnet Solutions’ biometrics technology expertise would be deployed to profile graduates who will be using the portal.
Abubakar Mohammed, NDE’s Director General, Abubakar Mohammed, said the initiative will create more transparency and equity in the country’s employment system.
