Preferred Developer Programme launched by Mxit to recognise and reward best developers

South Africa’s largest social network platform has launched their Preferred Developer Program (PDP) which will provide a form of certification or accreditation for Mxit developers.

The program already features “eight charter members including NATIVE, Kazazoom and Deloitte Digital RSA”.

Andy Volk, Vice President of Developer Relations at Mxit, said: “We created the PDP with a long-term goal to recognize and reward the best developers focused on building apps for third parties from our growing community.

“The program is designed to connect people who want custom Mxit apps built with the best developers available for hire. It’s also a great opportunity for us to acknowledge some of the best developers on Mxit who continue to build on their knowledge and insight of what works.”

There has been an increase for in Mxit developers who can design, build and manage fully integrated and engaging applications. Some of these developers have developed Mxit integrated applications for clients such as Media 24, Colgate and a number of South African financial institutions.

Volk added: “In the past, the challenge for clients has been finding the right people to build their apps. The introduction of our Preferred Developer Directory, which lists developers’ details as well as their Mxit portfolios, solves that by helping clients find the right developer for their needs.”
