Mxit India has appointed former chief operating officer (COO) Sam Nallaraj as its chief executive officer (CEO) following its expansion into the country from South Africa.
Announcing the appointment on Facebook, the company said: “Mxit India is happy to announce the appointment of Samuel Rufus Nallaraj as CEO for Mxit India! Sam was our former COO and has been asked to lead the India team by the Board of Directors and set the vision, mission, culture and the strategic direction of the company!”
Nallaraj has appeared on The Apprentice Asia.
“He is a celebrity in his own right and was one among 30,000 eligible applicants from all over Asia to represent India at “The Apprentice” Asia,” the company said.
HumanIPO reported yesterday Mxit India had recruited former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten as part of its marketing campaign.
Kirsten said in a tweet: “Good news – heading back to India today for the official launch of #MxitIndia. Bringing the homegrown Mxit to my other home away from home!”
