Nigerian music superstar Bez has advised every organisation doing great work to ensure they have a great online public relations team promoting their projects.
Speaking at Social Media Week Lagos, he said this is necessary for organisations to get the recognition they deserve.
He said: “It is unfortunate to note that organisations and individuals who are doing great works are not getting recognised while those who are just making much noise are getting all the credit.”
To tackle this, he said every non-governmental organisation (NGO) must engage the services of a good webmaster that will keep their sites updated with fresh news on the organisation and its latest activities.
He said he has personally benefited from this in his musical career.
According to him, through his online PR efforts, he has been able to attract invitations from local and foreign organisations including the Harvard Business School in the United States.
In addition to getting online, he also advised NGOs to ensure they utilise Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) in order to get better recognition.
“If your site is not in the first five search results, you are not legit [sic],” he said.
Bez’s latest video, That Stupid Song, is enjoying adequate play on channels across Africa and beyond and he was nominated for seven Headies Awards last year.
