The Kenyan High Court has stopped the re-tendering process for the provision of the devices for the country’s laptops for schools policy to hear an appeal by Indian firm Olive Telecommunications against the cancellation of the original tender it won.

HumanIPO reported earlier this week Olive had gone to court to appeal against a ruling by the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board (PPARB) to revoke the award of the tender and exclude the company from the process for not meeting tender requirements.

“The core parties to these proceedings are international companies and there is therefore need to determine these proceedings expeditiously in order to boost the confidence of investors in our courts,” said High Court judge Weldon Korir.

The next hearing of the case has been set for April 10, meaning no company can be awarded the tender until then.
