Recently appointed Microsoft chief executive officer (CEO) Satya Nadella has made his first management shakeup, appointing new heads of the company’s cloud, devices and Xbox divisions.

HumanIPO reported in February on the appointment of Nadella, who last week oversaw his first major rollout with the launch of Office for iPad.

Nadella has now made his first management changes, appointing Scott Guthrie as his own replacement as head of the cloud and enterprise group, former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop as executive vice president of the devices group, and Phil Spencer as boss of  Xbox operations.

The Elop appointment will become effective with the closure of Microsoft’s purchase of Nokia’s devices division, which is expected to take place this month.

“Recently, I’ve discussed with the Microsoft leadership team the need to zero in on what truly makes Microsoft unique,” Nadella said in an email. “As I said on my first day, we need to do everything possible to thrive in a mobile-first, cloud-first world. The announcements last week, our news this week, the Nokia acquisition closing soon, and the leaders and teams we are putting in place are all great first steps in making this happen.”
