The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) has rejected the “damning” e-tolling information allegedly provided to the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (OUTA) by an anonymous informant.
HumanIPO reported yesterday OUTA said it had received information relating to mismanagement of the e-tolling system by the roads agency.
OUTA said it has filed a subsidiary complaint to the public protector after submitting a 10,000-word document last month, with the latest evidence provided by a “well-placed source inside the system”, describing those at SANRAL as “arrogant and dangerous” people who “steamroll public opinion… bully politicians, and business people and do not act in the interests of the country”.
However, SANRAL spokesperson Vusi Mona has rejected the allegations, saying: “The public protector has not contacted SANRAL. We shall co-operate should her office conduct an investigation.”
