New Ghana job site seeks expansion across Africa

A new website aimed at helping Ghanaian job seekers in various sectors has been launched, with plans underway to extend across the continent.

In an exclusive interview with HumanIPO, Dennis Reherman, Technical Officer at Africa Job Brokers Ghana, revealed the reasons behind Dutch online recruitment company Job Brokers launching gh.africajobbrokers.com.

The site is a collaboration between Job Brokers and Africa Business Communities.

“We think Africa is a continent that is ripe with economic opportunity and with the right tools it is a continent which can go a long way in the next coming years,” Reherman said.

According to him, the aim of the Netherlands-based company is to bring about growth in Africa with a connecting job board.

“We aim to facilitate that growth with a job board that connects employers with skilled and enthusiastic employees. It also gives a great deal of control and overview to job seekers,” he said.

On the demography of the job seekers currently using the job board, he said they belong to the higher segment of education and are most active in IT and financial sectors. He however added the site is currently attracting more diverse visitors.

“Right now, most job seekers are in the higher segment of education and mostly active in IT and financial sectors. What we do see is that we attract a more diverse population these days.

“I think it’s because the aforementioned group is probably more on top of new developments,” he said.

On expansion plans to other countries, he said the company is using a calculated approach.

“We would like to expand our services to other countries in the continent. We do take a calculated approach in this. We would first like to see our platform reaching full maturity before we move on and establish ourselves in other countries,” Reherman told HumanIPO.
