Nigeria’s commercial capital Lagos is set to host the 2013 edition of the biggest exhibition in West Africa showcasing commercial and homeland security, fire and safety.
IFSEC West Africa is sponsored by Guardia Systems Ltd and will be held on Tuesday, March 5, and Wednesday, March 6, at the Eko Expo Centre at the heart of Lagos state.
Gary Corin, Managing Director of Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, a member of UBM Montgomery West Africa, said IFSEC West Africa is a unique event in the security sector of the West African sub-region.
“Now in its third successful year, this is a unique event in the security sector. It’s the only internationally-rated exhibition in West Africa to have buy-in from government, major industry players and other critical stakeholders,” Corin said.
In a statement made available to HumanIPO, the organisers described the event as the only avenue for the entire security supply chain in West Africa to come together.
“IFSEC West Africa is the only show to bring the entire security supply chain together, from end-users, installers and integrators to consultants, manufacturers and distributors,” the organisers stated.
Apart from the suppliers, the organisers said visitors to the exhibition also have a rare opportunity of viewing and sourcing “the most innovative products and services within the growing security sector”.
This year, Corin said the organisers have incorporated educational features in the form of seminar sessions.
“Our seminar programme is highly-regarded and aims to provide impartial information and advice. We believe knowledge is key to making the best strategic decisions for commercial and homeland security,” Corin said.
On the current status of the event in Africa, he said it has become “an effective barometer for the African market”.
“In fact, you could see it as a one-stop shop for exhibitors and visitors alike—there’s a lot one can accomplish in the two full days of the exhibition,” he added.
