Zimbabwe app solution to solve industry problem

An app solution created during the Zimbabwe Ideation Day can improve the access to business development knowledge in the country’s industry.

The platform will simplify access to business knowledge for creative developers in order to maintain sustainability.

This could enhance the possibilities of tech development in the country as previous reports found it difficult to locate roleplayers.

“There isn’t easily a group of communities to tap into,” Joeli Brearley, Director at CultureCode, told HumanIPO in an exclusive interview earlier this month.

“It is harder to find those interesting people to an extent. There are different places that they hang out online and TechZim of course has been an incredibly useful partner to have as we are based in the UK of course,” she explained.

Aimed at collaboration between tech developers and artists, a two-day Zimbabwe ideation event was hosted by UK development company Culture Shift and the British Council last weekend.

During the event, the development of projects were the main focus as the attendees were mentored by experts and enriched by relevant workshops.

Open Books, a mobile app for literature distribution, 2 Degrees, an artist showcasing app as well as Zimcreative, an artistic directory, were three of the solutions the networking participants came up with.

“It was great having individuals and organisations from the arts side get to learn of the possibilities tech platforms available locally,” TechZim reported.

HumanIPO reported on the initiative which has the goal in mind to form sustainable relationships between the art and technological industries, according to Brearley.
