South African ICT provider Pinnacle Holdings’ executive director Takalani Tshivhase appeared in court yesterday following allegations of corruption, with the court date then postponed to July 2.
The announcement was made to shareholders on the stock exchange news service SENS.
HumanIPO reported last month Tshivhase had been accused of bribing a police officer.
“The accused allegedly offered a lieutenant general in the technology management environment of the SAPS ZAR5 million (US$470,000) to secure a multimillion rand tender for his company. The lieutenant general’s office had advertised the tender,” the South African Police Service said.
Shortly after the accusations were made public and an initial court appearance Tshivhase took a leave of absence, with the company saying: “Mr Tshivhase has requested the company, and the company has agreed, to grant Mr Tshivhase leave of absence with immediate effect until the criminal proceedings have been concluded at which time Mr Tshivhase’s association with the company can be reviewed.”
