Former head of Internet Service Provider (ISP) First National Bank (FNB) Connect has joined Microsoft South Africa as the company’s central marketing organisation (CMO) lead.
HumanIPO reported last year Roper left FNB after five years serving in areas of legal, risk and compliance before his appointment in the business operation department and Connect ISP.
In a statement explaining his departure, FNB said Roper would be taking up “a great opportunity in the telecoms space”.
The company said his plans could not be discussed but he planned “to pursue an entrepreneurial venture”.
In a Tweet, Roper said: “Super super excited to be joining the@MicrosoftSA team today!”
Managing director (MD) of Microsoft South Africa Mteto Nyati responded to Roper’s Tweet by saying: “Welcome to Microsoft South Africa – we are excited as well.”
