Gabon Telecom partners with Mahindra Comviva for mobile VAS

Global leader in mobile value-added solutions Mahindra Comviva announced its partnership with Gabon Telecom at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

Mahindra Comviva will help Gabon Telecom introduce a host of financial services to build deeper consumer engagement.

“With our mobiquity® financial solution already being deployed at Onatel in Burkina Faso, Mauritel Mobile in Mauritania and Sotelma in Mali, we are excited to be working with the fourth affiliate of Maroc Telecom,” Sabri Amireh , head of Middle-East and North Africa at Mahindra Comviva, said.

Mohamed Karim, Gabon Telecom’s marketing manager said: “We are committed to leveraging technology to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Our tie-up with Mahindra Comviva to introduce easy to use mobile financial services to our valued customers in Gabon is a prime example of this.”

He added that with mobiquity, Gabon Telecom is able to provide cost-effective banking solution and improving people’s lives by creating access to financial services for the masses.

Mahindra Comviva uses USSD technology to deliver its products.

“Our USSD solution will ensure message delivery over a high-speed, secure platform whilst enabling rapid application development, with a service creation platform supporting rapid, cost-effective service launch,” Amireh said.

The company has deployed their services to over 57 countries and covers 550 million mobile users across the globe with an estimated 200 million hits daily on its USSD solutions.
