Zinox Group relocates iDirect internet evolution hub from Washington to Lagos

Nigeria’s ICT sector has received a major boost with the creation of an ICT hub in Lagos by Zinox Group.

According to the computer hardware and software company, it has decided to bring its hub to Nigeria.

Leo Stan Ekeh, group chairman of Zinox Group, disclosed this while receiving Professor Cleophas Angaye, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), at the Zinox factory complex.

Angaye, who led a delegation of NITDA research fellows to Zinox’s factory complex, was told the company has decided to relocate its hub which used to be in Washington DC, USA, to Nigeria.

In addition, the Zinox Group head confirmed the company has successfully completed the installation of the new iDirect Internet Evolution Hub in Nigeria.

Concerning the quality of facilities at the hub, he said they are state-of-the-art and can compete favourably with those in developed countries.

According to Ekeh, the company decided to invest heavily in setting up the hub because it believes possession of an information technology identity has become an essential part for any country that wants to excel and seek relevance in the twenty-first century.

Ekeh added Zinox Group currently operates Africa’s largest e-library domain. He added the company is leaving no stone unturned in lowering the operating costs, necessary to attract the participation of more educational institutions.
