South African network operator Vodacom has introduced a new weekend discount calling offer to its customers, valid until March 31.
Vodacom’s new Power Hour allows subscribers to call fellow Vodacom contacts between 6am and 8am on Saturdays and Sundays at ZAR5 (US$0.55) per hour.
Power Hour options can be purchased with existing airtime on the client’s phone.
The offer follows a previous Power Hour deal where Vodacom to Vodacom calls during weekdays were charged at ZAR10 (US$1.10) for 60 minutes between 6pm and 8pm.
The deal is valid for prepaid customers and excludes Top Up, contract customers and community services SIMs.
South African competitor MTN has recently reintroduced Mahala Thursdays, whereas Cell C released a SUPACHARGE package, allowing Cell C clients to call for free as a reward for recharging.
