South Africa’s Business Connexion (BCX) has announced chief executive officer (CEO) Benjamin Mophatlane has passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest yesterday.
The company said it would release more details in due course, but mourned the loss of the 41-year-old Mophatlane.
“As CEO, he left an indelible mark on the company, the employees of the group and our clients. Benjamin was instrumental in building BCX into SA´s leading IT company and led BCX business activity in the rest of Africa,” BCX said.
“Benjamin will be remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm and exceptionally warm personality, which are aspiring attributes for us all.”
HumanIPO reported yesterday BCX – which itself is set to be acquired in full by part-state owned operator Telkom for ZAR2.6 billion (US$260 million, had acquired a 30 per cent stake in Nigerian financial IT solutions provider AppZone.
