BlackBerry has disclosed Nigerian app developers have developed about 250 applications for the latest BlackBerry 10 platform.
Managing director (MD) in charge of West, East and Central Africa Waldi Wepener stated this at the official launch of the BlackBerry 10 device platform in Lagos.
He said the company is collaborating with several Nigerian app developers with the goal of ensuring several major Nigerian brands and mobile apps that are available on other platforms become accessible for Nigerian users of the latest BlackBerry device, the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone.
“We are proud to see Nigeria’s innovative developer community get behind the BlackBerry 10 platform, with more than 250 local apps now available and many more coming,” he said.
“We are committed to continuing to work closely with the Nigerian developer community to further enhance the local content available across our products.”
Wepener described the BlackBerry 10 platform as reliable and robust, and said it offers users an intuitive, gesture-based interface which gives a truly unique user experience because it is designed to learn, support and adapt to the way that the user works.
