Instant success for Afrikaans booking site

South African online booking site LekkeSlaap.co.za has obtained more than 28,000 Facebook fans following last week’s launch, with Afrikaans speakers finding accommodation in their mother tongue.

The “groundbreaking” website prides itself in providing thousands of Afrikaans travel enthusiasts with a variety of accommodation, from luxury hotels in Johannesburg to a relaxing beach house in Mossel Bay.

“The reaction from the public has been overwhelmingly positive and we have been showered with compliments from satisfied users,” Denise Neethling, marketing manager at LekkeSlaap said.

She added: “We are very excited about LekkeSlaap and proud to offer a lekke (nice) online accommodation booking service to the Afrikaans community, something they’ve been deprived of until now.”

This first Afrikaans website of its kind was developed by the award-winning creators of TravelGround.com, praised for its design, standards and easy use in 2012 by the eCommerce Awards.
