Mi-Fone customers in Rwanda can access the company’s devices from Kigali after the African phone manufacturer opened shop in the country.
Mi-Fone CEO Alpesh Patel said the company has been attracted to the Rwandan market by the improved business climate and huge steps made in the field of ICT.
“By opening this shop, we’re responding to Rwanda’s call to invest and improve on our service delivery and we jump at the opportunity to build direct relationships with our consumers,” said Alpesh.
The store, to be situated next to Kigali City Market, is expected to offer potential and existing customers better access to products, while at the same time increasing visibility for the company.
Mi-Fone says it will continue to offer on its affordable definition, with the company boasting its handsets “break the definition of low cost and will retail from RWF10,000 (approx. US$15.75) and RWF40,000 (approx. US$63) on the Mi a200 and Mi-W100 Android devices as well as a number of feature phones.
“The versatility and affordability of the brand’s phones make it an attractive deal for the ever-growing need for quality affordable and need-driven handsets,” read a statement from the company.
By opening the new shop in Kigali the company increases its service centres to four, having already established others in Johannesburg, Nairobi and its headquarters situated at Port Louis Mauritius.
