The failure of the Lagos state commandant of the National Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Obafaiye Shem, to name the corps’ official website address during a live television interview has resulted in an outburst on social media.
In addition, the video (below) has gone viral.
In the footage, Shem is seen trying to trivialise the journalists’ questions on the website.
“I cannot totally tell you one now because the one we are going to make use of I’m not the one that is to create it. The one that we are going to make use of is going to be made known by my oga [boss] at the top. I can’t announce one now and my oga says it’s another one he’s going to use,” Shem said.
When asked to give the website Nigerians should visit when in search of information about the corps, he said: “If you want to know about NSCDC, go to www.nscdc, that’s all.”
There has been a huge reaction on Twitter.

@OVI3_RUL3Z however enjoined Nigerians to exercise caution with the jokes.
The “my oga at the top” joke is overflogged na. Let it go, guys. Lest I summon my oga at the top for u all. ( ˘̶̀˘̯˘̶́ )

In addition to the Tweets, images from the official’s appearance on the television are being shared on Facebook and other social media platforms, while a design for “oga at the top” T-shirt has also surfaced online.
