A mobile website that allows Nigerian event organisers to directly sell tickets has been launched by Eventsrail Limited, a major provider of online registration and ticketing services.
The feature is made possible through Application Programming Interface (API).
Nnamdi Anyanwu, Eventsrail’s co-founder and chief technical officer, said with the aid of the interface it is now possible to register for events and purchase tickets on all mobile phones.
“Event goers and attendees can easily purchase tickets to events using their mobile phones in a user-friendly manner. Using Eventsrail API, event organisers can create events and sell tickets directly on their own websites and blogs which helps to drive traffic to their own websites, blogs and also adds to their brand equity,” Anyanwu said.
He said users also have the option of one-time easy signup via Facebook and Gmail in addition to the interface’s direct acceptance of Mastercard, Verve and Visa Debit cards without requiring a third party.
Other features are bar-coded tickets that have eased verification of tickets and ticket holders’ admittance at events.
There is also the advantage of easy promotion on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Google+, and event organisers can embed YouTube videos on their event pages.
Organisers can send and receive automated event reminders in addition to scanning and entry management, rich reporting and analytics.
