Microsoft Office 2013 now available in Nigeria

Nigeria is the first African country to have Office 2013 available in its market, barely two months after it was officially made public.

This was announced by Marc Israel, Office division group lead for Microsoft West, East and Central Africa and Indian Ocean Islands.

“This is a major leap forward. We know that people’s needs are changing rapidly, particularly on the African continent. This new iteration of Microsoft Office allows them to adopt technology that changes with them, meeting their everyday requirements,” Israel said.

“Office 2013 makes the end user more productive in both a work and home environment,” Israel added.

He continued by saying, “With Office you can continue working offline, while the integration with cloud technologies allows you to sync your documents seamlessly allowing you to be far more productive.”

Office 365 Home Premium is the cloud service in Office 2013, and will allow people in busy households to juggle between work and family responsibilities. The new Office also works on five devices that include PCs, Macs, and Windows tablets.

Other versions of Office 2013, including Office Home and Student 2013, Home and Business 2013 and Professional 2013 are also available for purchase in the country.

Office 2013 was launched on January 29 this year, and is the successor of Microsoft Office 2010, with a refined user interface for compatibility with both touch and mouse.

It is not clear when Office 2013 will be available in other African countries.
