Hacking collective Anonymous have declared war on the increasingly erratic state of North Korea in a strongly worded statement which followed its attacks on the country’s government sites at the weekend.
While simultaneously denouncing the United States government, Anonymous focused their wrath on North Korea and called on its leader Kim Jong-un to resign.
In their statement on pastebin yesterday (Wednesday), Anonymous said: “This is not about country vs country – This is about we, the people, the 99% (of USA and of North Korea) vs oppressing and violent regimes (like USA gov. and N.K. gov)! We, the people, are gathering together because we are stronger now and we won’t fight your wars anymore, we won’t eat your s**t anymore!!! [sic]”
Tensions on the Korean peninsula are running extremely high after the North declared a “state of war” with the South and threatened to hit the US and its allies with nuclear missiles.
Prior to the statement Anonymous Korea claimed to have hacked and taken down several government websites, including the state-owned media and news site by deploying distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.
Anonymous added: “First we gonna wipe your data, then we gonna wipe your badass dictatorship ‘government.’”
