Line-up confirmed for LTE Africa 2013 in Cape Town

Organisers of the LTE Africa 2013 conference coming to Cape Town in July have told HumanIPO they are delighted with the line-up of speakers they have put together.

The conference will be held at the Westin Hotel, in Cape Town, from July 9-10, and is expected to attract more than 300 attendees, 60-plus speakers and 30 operator case studies.

Confirmed speakers include Alan Knott-Craig Sr, chief executive officer (CEO) of Cell C, Wilgon Berthold Tsibo, chief technical officer at Equateur Telecom in Congo, and Charles Matondane, head of VAS and mobile internet at Vodacom Tanzania.

Samuel Oakley, events director of LTE World Series at Informa Telecoms & Media, said: “We are delighted with the tremendous level of interest and support that we have received from across the LTE ecosystem in Africa for the forthcoming LTE Africa 2013 conference and exhibition in Cape Town.”

According to research carried out by Informa, there will be 40.5 million LTE subscribers on the continent by 2017. There were just 0.3 million subscribers in 2012.p>

Oakley added: “The LTE market in Africa is surging at a surprising rate and this is demonstrated by the huge interest we are receiving in this event, with an expected 300+ attendees. LTE Africa 2013 will provide an excellent platform for the full LTE ecosystem in Africa to unite and share best practice in order to ensure its continued growth.”
